My Story

Okay. Here is my story that I wrote for class. Enjoy!

The Day My Pet Rock Came To Life

One Friday at the beach I picked out a smooth, medium sized rock to keep. I named him Rocky and took him home. I painted big jolly eyes and a smiling mouth on him. I showed my brother Davis and he laughed.
The next morning…
“Wake up! Come on sleepyhead!! Wake up! Come on. Wake up!” I jolted up, looked around and started to get nervous. There was nobody here. And then…”Down here!! Hey! You! Look down here!”
I looked down and saw nothing but my pet rock, and he said “Finally! You’re slow. Are you still asleep or something?”
“Aaauugghh!!!!” I screamed, "This is just a dream. I’m still asleep, in bed, dreaming,” I kept telling myself. “Ouch!” I had closed my eyes and pinched myself to wake me up, but it didn’t work.
5 minutes later…
I was in Davis’s tornado-struck room telling him what happened. When he heard he started to laugh his head off. I told him to come and see for himself, and he said only as long as the rock “talked” to him too.
Rocky took one look at Davis, and shut up right away. Davis said,” Well?”
I shrugged as he walked away. “Rocky!!!” I yelled. “What were you thinking!?!?!?!?”
“He would have fainted anyway. What was the point?” I couldn’t argue with that, so I decided to take Rocky to the beach where I found him.

Later that day…
We arrived at the rocky, duney beach, and I took him out of my pocket. He told me to put him down so he could feel the dry sand dunes and talk to the other rocks. I did, and he just sat there. I asked him what he was doing, and he said that he was talking with the other rock. He said that I just have to listen to them. When he was done, I walked him around for a little bit. He loved the sound of the crashing waves, the cry of the seagulls, and the feel of the gritty sand. We finally went home, and decided to go to bed.

The following morning…
“Yawn! Phew! Yesterday was all a dream! I’m free!” I yelled as I realized I had dreamt up yesterday. “Hahahaha!”
“Shhhh! I’m trying to sleep!” grumbled Roxy, my normally good-natured yellow lab. “Don’t you remember the saying, let sleeping dogs lie?” Here we go again!!!!! I thought as I rolled over in bed.

Invisibility

Being invisible would be awesome, because there's so many fun things to do. First off I could pull many pranks on my friends and family. I would be able to T.P. somebody without getting caught. Sneaking up on my brother and sister would be fun, but mean (but then I'd become visible and tell them what I did). Getting out of punishment and schoolwork would be a piece of cake. Endless desserts would finally be within my grasp! ;-D When my brother slept with my dog, I could sneak in and take her back. Then, if Davis and Britni were trying to hide, they could come to me and I'd make us both invisible.
During hide and seek, I'd hide in the most obvious spots, and only leave a little part of my body visible. I would take our laserlight, and make my dog go nuts because she wouldn't be able to see who was holding the light. Being able to become invisible whenever I want to would be so awesome!

Nothing's happening today, so I'll just write about anything. Oh yeah! I forgot. My Nana and Aitona (Grandma and Grandpa) came yesterday with my 3rd cousin named Natalia. It's different because she'll be here for three months, and we had to move my brother out of his room. She doesn't speak much English, but she's nice. I wonder what it'll be like, having her here.
Any way, my mom bought a used skateboard without trucks and wheels, and taped an old pair of her shoes on it, and now we use it on the trampoline. It's so fun! I can do an Indy, 180 spin, 360 spin, and a stalefish. I don't know what to call it, but when you're on the board with other people on the trampoline, you go really high! When you land, though, your legs feel so weird.
Uh-oh. I got to go.
See ya!

Pool Party!

Last night was awesome! My church has a really great junior high program led by Scott. We do really awesome stuff on Wednesdays. One time we had a candy night, we had a pizza night, we had a snow cone night, and we're having nacho night next week, and last night was a pool party! We had really great taquitos, Dr. Pepper and Coke, and lots of different kinds of chips. One of the leaders had brought in a big air mattress. All the boys started to play king of the hill. I started to play along with two other girls. Then I pushed off this one guy and he called two of his buddies two help him get me. They were out to get me even though I had only pushed one of them off once. When they tried to get me though, I pushed them off a lot. One of the leaders, Raymond (he was the one who brought in the mattress) came to play. He went under the mattress and lifted it up! Everyone fell off, except for me. That, was the most fun part of the game. I finally fell off, only to pop back up saying,"That was awesome! Let's do it again!"
Somebody had asked Scott last Sunday if they could get baptized at the party, and Scott said yes. After baptizing him, Scott asked if anybody else would like to get baptized and I said yes! He baptized me, and then I got out and asked Raymond to hand me back my towel, and he said,"Sure. But now it's time for your 'official' baptizing!" and threw me in the pool. I got out and went in the jacuzzi. Then Scoot threw pennies in the pool and told us that for every 20 pennies, we'd get a candy. When all the pennies were gone, we went up to get our candy. I got four candies. They were Skittles, Three Musketeers, Twix, and Reeses. The party was great! I had so much fun!

Roxy

I'm going to keep writing about Roxy because she is the best dog ever. If I take her to the beach and go surfing, she'll follow me, and when I take a wave, she'll try to bodysurf it with me. One time, though, my mom and I actually got her on a board and she took a wave! It's so cute when she does that!
Speaking of cute, when I'm gone at camp, she'll pull out all my stuffed animals and stay in my room, on my bed. Even when my family and I are gone for only a few minutes she'll do that! She gets lonely, and that's what she does when she's lonely.
Sometimes, though, when my family and I are tired, but she isn't, she'll run to the park to play. Some of those times she sees her friends and stays and plays. If not, she'll walk herself back home.
When she sleeps with me, she'll sometimes crowd me, but most of the tome she doesn't. Then, in the morning she'll leave, or wake me up. This morning she woke me up.
That's it for now!

Roxy

Hello!
I can't think of anything to write about except for my dog, Roxy. She's a 3-year old year old yellow lab. She loves playing with people and other dogs. Her best friend (boyfriend) is my friend's dog, Hobie. They love to hang out with each other, which is great because then I get to see my friend. If you mention the name Hobie to Roxy, she goes crazy! She starts running to the front door and back, licking your face, and wagging her body! I would say wagging her tail, except she gets so excited that her whole body starts wagging along with her tail! Also, if you mention the names of my other friend's dogs, she goes crazy too, but she doesn't run to the front door. Maybe it's because she grew up knowing Hobie, and not the other dogs until later.
I have to go, but I'll be back to write more about Roxy later.
Bye!

Dani Roxy Girl 2: September 2006

Hi again. I don't have much to say, except for the fact that our team, the Mongooses, lost another soccer game.My friends Amy, Megan, and I are all on the same team, and we had a game at 2:00 pm. We played the Stingrays, and we lost 3 to 1. Personally, I got really mad, so then I started going harder in the last quarter. I was defense though, so I couldn't score any goals.

On Thursday I got to go to Disneyland! It was so awesome! I got to go with my two friends. We got there when it opened and left when it closed. It felt like we went on almost every ride in the park! Our favorite was Space Mountain, and then Splash. The only rides that we wanted to go on but didn't get to were the Peter Pan and Indiana Jones rides. Oh well. We had tons of fun anyway. The next day I was so tired that the only thing I did was writing, which was also fun.

In writing I liked the Choose your own Adventure writing assignment. My group is doing a really cool story! The people in my group are Amy, Megan, and Lauren. I'm looking forward to our field trip next week.

See Ya!

Brazil

Hi, my name is Dani. I live in God's wonderful surf country.

I just recently got back from doing God's work in Brazil. I was in Sao Paulo Brazil for 10 days where I met some wonderful people. I was part of a children's ministry team. We did dramas, skits, and puppet shows to help them understand God's love. We did a workshop to teach the churches how to have a children's program (Sunday school, vacation bible school). After that we did two crusades to reach the youth. That was when we did the most puppet shows. The second crusade 45 kids accepted Jesus into their hearts during the altar call. It was so cool to know that we helped them! It was really a blessing to see these kids so eager to learn about God.
I had a puppet that I gave away to a 10 year old boy named Matthew. When I gave it to him his face lit up with joy as it is probably the only stuffed animal he has. It made me feel good to give it to him.

When we had free time we went shopping in the malls. I bought some really cool and interesting things. All their shops are grouped together by what they sell. For example, if you wanted to get Christian stuff you would go to the Christian area of town. If you wanted to get music you would go to the music area.
