Okay. Here is my story that I wrote for class. Enjoy!
The Day My Pet Rock Came To Life
One Friday at the beach I picked out a smooth, medium sized rock to keep. I named him Rocky and took him home. I painted big jolly eyes and a smiling mouth on him. I showed my brother Davis and he laughed.
The next morning…
“Wake up! Come on sleepyhead!! Wake up! Come on. Wake up!” I jolted up, looked around and started to get nervous. There was nobody here. And then…”Down here!! Hey! You! Look down here!”
I looked down and saw nothing but my pet rock, and he said “Finally! You’re slow. Are you still asleep or something?”
“Aaauugghh!!!!” I screamed, "This is just a dream. I’m still asleep, in bed, dreaming,” I kept telling myself. “Ouch!” I had closed my eyes and pinched myself to wake me up, but it didn’t work.
5 minutes later…
I was in Davis’s tornado-struck room telling him what happened. When he heard he started to laugh his head off. I told him to come and see for himself, and he said only as long as the rock “talked” to him too.
Rocky took one look at Davis, and shut up right away. Davis said,” Well?”
I shrugged as he walked away. “Rocky!!!” I yelled. “What were you thinking!?!?!?!?”
“He would have fainted anyway. What was the point?” I couldn’t argue with that, so I decided to take Rocky to the beach where I found him.
Later that day…
We arrived at the rocky, duney beach, and I took him out of my pocket. He told me to put him down so he could feel the dry sand dunes and talk to the other rocks. I did, and he just sat there. I asked him what he was doing, and he said that he was talking with the other rock. He said that I just have to listen to them. When he was done, I walked him around for a little bit. He loved the sound of the crashing waves, the cry of the seagulls, and the feel of the gritty sand. We finally went home, and decided to go to bed.
The following morning…
“Yawn! Phew! Yesterday was all a dream! I’m free!” I yelled as I realized I had dreamt up yesterday. “Hahahaha!”
“Shhhh! I’m trying to sleep!” grumbled Roxy, my normally good-natured yellow lab. “Don’t you remember the saying, let sleeping dogs lie?” Here we go again!!!!! I thought as I rolled over in bed.

THE END
